A collaboration between Carlos Quaglia, Federico Ricatto and the famous Jerry Thomas Speakeasy bar in Rome, the del Professore range is a homage to ‘The Professor’, Jerry Thomas. These highly aromatic, unique and affordable vermouths and gins are currently used in some of the most prestigious bars in Rome, Paris and NYC.
Careful blending of fine aromatic herbs and spices with high quality base wine are the simple but sought after ingredients for Quaglia’s formula. Both spend extended periods of time developing in oak bar-rels before being bottled under the distinctive labels.
Conceived for the perfect Americano or Negroni, the Vermouth del Professore are finding their ways into the hearts of bartenders around the world, and for good reason. Once you taste these you’ll know why.
The Gin del Professore Monsieur, with a more classic gin profile of juniper and citrus, and the Madame, with an extra layer of sweeter spiced aromas of cinnamon, vanilla and wild rose. Both gins represent the rediscovery of a lost style of gin production: the making of the prohibition era ‘Bathtub Gin’. Retracing the same techniques they use for their vermouth, the creation of the gin starts with blending a juni-per distillate into an infusion of herbs and spices with the aim of ob-taining a deep complexity of aromas. Neither gins are industrially filtered and therefore they maintain their original amber colour gained from the spice infusion.
