Nicolas Mariotti bindi
Nicolas Mariotti Bindi might only be in his early thirties but he is rising star in Patrimonio. Originally from Northern Corsica, he planned on following in his father's footsteps and pursue a career in law. He got past his legal studies at the Sorbonne in Paris but he never set foot in a court room. Instead, he opted to return home and take up work in the vines.
In 2007, after interning briefly with Antoine Arena, he was hired as the vineyard manager at Domaine Leccia in Patrimonio, He still holds this position while he makes wine under his own label from five hectares of organically farmed vines that were rented to him by a neighboring winemaker.
“I worked each plot of vines with integrity and a powerful desire to bring out the absolute best. Each of my wines is a story, one which is a complete pleasure to share.”
“His grapes come from the organic, limestone-rich Mursaglia parcel near Leccia’s, where he began acquiring vines in 2009. His Mursaglia Blanc is an excellent example of Corsican vermentino, while his Mursa-glia Rouge offers plenty of mineral brightness and sagebrush aromas amid the tannins.”
